The therapy dogs arrived at Bush Intercontinental Airport Friday morning to bring smiles to stranded passengers.

Avelo Airlines announced today the launch of exclusive nonstop service from Houston to Hartford, Connecticut, starting this fall. Hartford will be the second Connecticut destination served by Avelo from Houston.

The Houston-based airline will provide nonstop service between Houston’s most convenient airport, William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), and Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL). Avelo is the sole airline offering nonstop flights from Houston to Connecticut.

Six new restaurants, both chain and local, will open their doors at Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport by fall 2024, representatives said. The expansion comes amid ongoing efforts to increase food and beverage options at the travel hub.
